Recap: Northside Christian Academy Knights vs. Hickory Grove Christian Lions
Make it ten blowout wins for the Northside Christian Academy Knights this season. They really took it to Hickory Grove Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-19 victory on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-7.
Northside Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brianna Carelock, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten steals. Carelock has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. JaKaila Gaskin was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Hickory Grove Christian's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Mackenzie Williams and Lauren Feaster. Williams scored 11 points, while Feaster scored three points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Hickory Grove Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Northside Christian Academy racked up 13 assists.
Northside Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Hickory Grove Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
Northside Christian Academy on the road again on Saturday and play against Victory Christian Center at 12:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for Hickory Grove Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Metrolina Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m.
