Volleyball Recap: Murray County Finds Home Court Redemption Against Coosa

There's no place like home for Murray County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against the Coosa Eagles by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-23.

Katherine Stone paced Murray County's offense, picking up eight kills. Stone got some help from Jordyn Farmer and her nine assists. Farmer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Coosa's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Whitley Sharpe, who had six digs.

Murray County's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4. As for Coosa, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Coincidentally, Murray County and Coosa will both be playing Trion the next time they take the court. The Eagles will head out to face the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Indians will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
