Basketball Game Preview: Chincoteague Ponies vs. Arcadia Firebirds

The Chincoteague Ponies just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Arcadia Firebirds at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Chincoteague ended up a good deal behind Holly Grove Christian and lost 39-23. While losing is never fun, the Ponies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 401st in Virginia, while the Eagles are ranked 34th in Maryland).

Meanwhile, Arcadia waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 46-37.

Chincoteague's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Arcadia, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
