Baseball Recap: Festus Gets the Win

Festus came out on top against North County on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Tigers took their matchup against the Raiders 11-8. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

James Jackson tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brady Nolen, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Cale Schaumburg also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Festus' record now sits at 14-6-1. As for North County, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-9.

Coincidentally, Festus and North County will both be playing Farmington the next time they take the field. The Raiders will host the Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Tigers will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
