Baseball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Windsor Locks' Winning Streak

Windsor Locks dropped their record down to 15-7 on Saturday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They fell 6-3 to the Coventry Patriots. If the Raiders were looking for revenge after losing 8-0 to the Patriots when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Coventry, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games.

For Coventry's part, the team relied heavily on Dustin Menzel, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Deangelis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Windsor Locks didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 17-7 loss against Windsor on the 24th. As for Coventry, they will challenge Tolland at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
