Softball Recap: Springfield Has No Trouble Against Maumee

Springfield won the last time they faced Maumee and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Panthers. Considering the Blue Devils have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for Springfield and bumps their season record up to 13-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Maumee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.

Springfield and Maumee should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Blue Devils will challenge Ross at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (59 vs. 211). Meanwhile, Maumee (ranked 151st) will meet Fostoria (ranked 573rd) at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
