Baseball Recap: Monticello Takes a Loss

Monticello managed to slip by Goochland the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mustangs came up short against the Bulldogs on Thursday, falling 11-1. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 1-0.

Monticello saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Jumper, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Drew McDaniel also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Monticello has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Goochland, they moved to 4-8 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monticello will take on Louisa County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Goochland, they will face off against Amelia County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
