Baseball Recap: Lyman Comes Up Short

Lyman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 6-3 to the Winter Park Wildcats. The Greyhounds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Lyman saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Hamilton, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Hamilton is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Lyman's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Winter Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Lyman will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lake Brantley at 6:00 p.m. Lake Brantley's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Lyman's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Winter Park, they will face off against Fenwick at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
