Basketball Recap: Oldham County Takes a Loss

Oldham County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 72-58 to the Danville Christian Academy Warriors.

Danville Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leek Ateny led the charge by going 8 for 12 on his way to 16 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The match was Ateny's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lual Ayiei, who went 8 of 15 en route to 17 points along with five assists and five boards.

Oldham County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Danville Christian Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Oldham County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 76-41 loss against Beechwood on the 21st. Danville Christian Academy and Russell will round out the year against one another at at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Danville Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60 points per game this season.
