Basketball Game Preview: Menlo-Atherton Bears vs. Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles

The Menlo-Atherton Bears will hit the road for the first time this season to take on the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Menlo-Atherton is leaving town to face Clayton Valley Charter after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Bears fell 57-47 to St. Francis on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Clayton Valley Charter was able to grind out a solid victory over Saint Mary's on Saturday, taking the game 40-27.

Clayton Valley Charter's win came from a few key players Menlo-Atherton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Leo Some, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 boards. Those ten points gave him a new career-high. Zion Grissom was another key player, putting up nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Clayton Valley Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.
