Basketball Game Preview: North Mesquite Stallions vs. Seagoville Dragons

The North Mesquite Stallions will face off against the Seagoville Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

North Mesquite is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Spruce: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that North Mesquite blew Spruce out of the water with a 65-13 final score. The Stallions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 26 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Seagoville earned a 70-58 win over Wilson on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dragons.

Seagoville has also been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-13 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for North Mesquite, they pushed their record up to 18-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

North Mesquite couldn't quite finish off Seagoville in their previous matchup back in January and fell 53-50. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Seagoville's Travion Hall, who went 8 for 18 en route to 28 points and eight boards.
