Volleyball Recap: Westerville North Comes Up Short

After flying high against Westland last Thursday, Westerville North came back down to earth. The Warriors came up short against the Big Walnut Golden Eagles on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-17, 25-12.

Big Walnut's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sydney Hamilton led the charge by getting nine digs and three aces. Shelby Damron also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Westerville North's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Big Walnut, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Westerville North is set to take on their familiar foe Worthington Kilbourne at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Big Walnut will challenge rival Dublin Scioto at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
