Basketball Recap: Clay County Bulldogs vs. Pickett County Bobcats

Clay County lost against Pickett County last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Clay County Bulldogs were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 65-64 to the Pickett County Bobcats.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pickett County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nathaniel Cobb, who went 7-for-9 en route to 17 points and seven rebounds. Cobb is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 13 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jacob Amonett, who posted 15 points along with seven assists and seven boards.

Clay County's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Pickett County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season.

Clay County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pickett County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-39 victory against Van Buren County on the 10th.
