Volleyball Recap: Gunnison Cowboys vs. North Fork Miners
Gunnison had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the North Fork Miners with a sharp 3-0 win on Saturday. The Cowboys are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 14 straight.
Sienna Gomez paced Gunnison's offense, picking up ten kills. Gomez got some help from
Aubriel Loken and her 20 assists. Loken also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with
Rose Kowal, racking up three apiece.
Gunnison pushed their record up to 22-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for North Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-12.
Gunnison wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against The Vanguard School on the 9th. North Fork does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
