Volleyball Recap: Yutan Chieftains vs. Freeman Falcons

Yutan had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Freeman Falcons by a score of 3-1. For the Chieftains, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2015.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 20-25, 25-20, 25-21.

Freeman's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anna Johansen, who had 12 digs. Johansen is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in the last four games she's played.

Yutan pushed their record up to 27-1 with the victory, which was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season. As for Freeman, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 25-4.

Yutan will play host again on Saturday to welcome Elgin/Pope John, where the match is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Freeman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
