Softball Recap: Seventy-First Comes Up Short

Seventy-First was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-2 to the Red Springs Red Devils. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Red Devils when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Seventy-First's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Red Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Seventy-First and Red Springs will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Falcons are set to take on their familiar foe Douglas Byrd at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Red Springs will face off against rival South Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
