Baseball Game Preview: East Bernard Brahmas vs. Almeta Crawford Chargers

East Bernard is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Almeta Crawford is on an eight-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Brahmas will welcome the Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (East Bernard 3.6, Almeta Crawford 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Monday just wasn't the day for East Bernard's offense. They fell just short of Franklin by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The Brahmas' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Almeta Crawford made easy work of Brazos on Tuesday and carried off a 10-3 victory. Considering the Chargers have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

TJ Weaver looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chris Anderson was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Dailon Ferguson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Almeta Crawford is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for East Bernard, their loss dropped their record down to 24-3.

East Bernard suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Almeta Crawford in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Brahmas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
