Preview: Brookesmith Mustangs vs. Priddy Pirates
The Brookesmith Mustangs will take on the Priddy Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
Two weeks ago, Brookesmith came up short against Rochelle and fell 43-30. Brookesmith has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Priddy gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past Sidney 63-24 on the road. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Priddy had established a 33 point advantage.
Priddy found their leader in underclassman Amber Grelle, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Grelle has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Natalie Seider was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Brookesmith's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Priddy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-5.
Things could have been worse for Brookesmith, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 38-19 loss to Priddy in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Brookesmith avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
