Football Recap: Smoky Mountain Comes Up Short at Home Against Swain County

Smoky Mountain unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost to the Swain County Maroon Devils at home by a 21-6 margin on Friday. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Maroon Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Looking ahead, Smoky Mountain will be playing in front of their home fans against Andrews at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Swain County, they are taking a road trip to square off against Pisgah at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
