Basketball Recap: Brantley County Takes a Loss

If Brantley County was feeling good fresh off their 68-45 takedown of Bacon County last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Brantley County Herons fell 60-53 to the Thomasville Bulldogs on Friday.

Thomasville was led to victory by Antoine Garland Jr. and Xavier Burkes Jr.. Garland Jr. went 8 for 16 on his way to 22 points, while Burkes Jr. dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Mitchell, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Brantley County dropped their record down to 9-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Thomasville, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Brantley County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-44 victory against Jeff Davis on the 11th. As for Thomasville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 67-66 defeat against Brookwood on the 11th.
