Softball Recap: Kings Mountain Mountaineers vs. Ashbrook Greenwave
Kings Mountain got themselves on the board against Ashbrook on Friday, but Ashbrook never followed suit. Everything went their way against the Ashbrook Greenwave as they made off with a 19-0 win. The game marked the Mountaineers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Anna Wooten was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kayla McSwain was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. Paige Fleming was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Kings Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in four consecutive matches.
