Softball Recap: Vassar Comes Up Short at Home Against Harbor Beach

Vassar unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 8-5 to the Harbor Beach Pirates on Wednesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 12 in a row.

Della Long was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Lily Jobson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Coming up, Vassar will look to defend their home field on Friday against Cass City at 4:00 p.m. As for Harbor Beach, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Peck at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th.
