Baseball Game Preview: Mattituck Tuckers vs. Pierson Whalers

The Mattituck Tuckers will head out to square off against the Pierson Whalers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mattituck has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 10th.

Mattituck came up short against Babylon on Friday, falling 13-4.

Trey Hansen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. That run marked the first that he has scored this season. Ben Voegel was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Pierson's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost 11-1 to Port Jefferson.

Pierson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Mitchell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Another was Andy Wayne, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Pierson now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Mattituck, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
