Basketball Recap: Mountain City Christian Academy Skates Past Kodiak with Ease

Mountain City Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Kodiak Bears 73-8. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Bears are ranked 36th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain City Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keelie Kronberger, who posted 19 points. The matchup was Kronberger's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Schaeffer, who put up 15 points.

Mountain City Christian Academy's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.1 points. As for Kodiak, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Mountain City Christian Academy has already played their next contest (against Soldotna), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Kodiak will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Dimond at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
