Preview: Raleigh-Egypt Pharaohs vs. Brighton Cardinals
The Raleigh-Egypt Pharaohs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Brighton Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Raleigh-Egypt will be strutting in after a victory while Brighton will be coming in after a loss.
Even though Millington Central scored an imposing 68 points on Tuesday, Raleigh-Egypt still came out on top. Raleigh-Egypt snuck past Millington Central with a 72-68 victory. Given Raleigh-Egypt's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Millington Central is ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Raleigh-Egypt got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cassie Bullard out in front who scored 21 points. Travion Baker was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Meanwhile, Brighton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell to Craigmont 53-49. Brighton has struggled against Craigmont recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Raleigh-Egypt has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Brighton, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-13.
