Soccer Recap: Sultana Comes Up Short

There was early excitement for Sultana after they claimed the first goal on Thursday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of the Oak Hills Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. The Sultans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Sultana's goal came courtesy of Ivan Vitela, who's now up to two this season.

Sultana moved to 8-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Oak Hills, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0-1.

Sultana and Oak Hills should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Sultana (ranked 78th) will meet Serrano (ranked 962nd) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Sultana is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season. Similarly, Oak Hills will face off against Burroughs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday up 678 places (28 vs. 706).
