Recap: Buhler Crusaders vs. McPherson Bullpups

If The Buhler Crusaders were feeling good off their 62-16 takedown of the Ulysses Tigers last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Buhler suffered a tough 26-3 defeat at the hands of McPherson on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 62 points in the game before, Buhler couldn't push the score so high this time.

Jeffrey Neill threw for 172 yards on 14 of 38 attempts. Quentin Pisano was his top target, picking up 72 receiving yards. On the ground, Brayden Gentry rushed for 47 yards.

Carlos German was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. German's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Teegan Haines got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Buhler's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for McPherson, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

Buhler does not have any more games scheduled as of now. McPherson will head out on the road to face off against Andover Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Andover Central is ranked 46th, while McPherson is ranked 55th).
