Basketball Game Preview: Westminster Lions vs. Artesia Pioneers

Two dominant guards in Sean Le and CJ Okeke are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Westminster Lions will square off against the Artesia Pioneers at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday. Westminster has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 21.

It was a proper cat-fight when Westminster duked it out withValencia on Friday. Westminster was dealt a 69-32 defeat at the hands of Valencia. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1133rd, while the Tigers are ranked 408th).

Artesia has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-52 heartbreaker at the hands of Oxford Academy.

Artesia's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 14-7. As for Westminster, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.
