Basketball Game Preview: LaGrange Grangers vs. Fayette County Tigers

LaGrange is 0-6 against Fayette County since November of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The LaGrange Grangers will host the Fayette County Tigers at 6:00 p.m.

LaGrange is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They were dealt a 71-39 loss at the hands of Troup County. While losing is never fun, the Grangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 420th, while the Tigers are ranked 127th).

Meanwhile, Fayette County entered their tilt with Sandy Creek on Saturday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Patriots, sneaking past 65-62.

Fayette County's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points per game. As for LaGrange, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

LaGrange was taken down by Fayette County 73-20 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point LaGrange was down 34-9.
