Baseball Recap: Warren Woods-Tower Comes Up Short

Warren Woods-Tower extended their losing streak to ten on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 3-14 in the process. They came up short against the Fraser Ramblers, falling 12-2. If the Titans were looking for revenge after losing 8-1 to the Ramblers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Warren Woods-Tower saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derek Akins, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

As for Fraser, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games.

On Fraser's side, Austin Wilson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Wilson also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Fraser is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-9 otherwise. Wilson was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Michael Schwartz was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Stanley Anderson was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

While Warren Woods-Tower had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
