Football Recap: Riverside-Brookfield Starts Season with Win on the Road

Riverside-Brookfield had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Niles West Wolves by a score of 35-27 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Braeden Novak threw for 157 yards and three TDs on only 13 passes. Jayden Karas was his top target, picking up 79 receiving yards. On the ground, Giancarlo Garcia rushed for 92 yards on only 11 carries.

Riverside-Brookfield will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Hinsdale South at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Niles West, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Mundelein at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
