Soccer Game Preview: Columbia vs. Laurel

The Columbia Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Laurel Golden Tornadoes at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

It was a proper cat-fight when Columbia took on Lawrence County on Tuesday. The Wildcats came up short against the Cougars, falling 6-0.

Meanwhile, Laurel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 5-0 to Hattiesburg HomeSchool.

Laurel's loss dropped their record down to 2-9-1. As for Columbia, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Columbia suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Laurel in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Wildcats were down 4-1.
