Nick Romero was a major factor in Eastlake's victory over Coronado on Monday. Coronado had no answer to Romero as he struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave Romero a new career-high in strikeouts.

Looking ahead, Romero and Eastlake will challenge Scripps Ranch at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Romero has dominated as far as strikeouts are concerned (he's averaged 8 per game this season), but he's got his work cut out for him considering the Falcons have only allowed 3.75 per game this season.
