Baseball Recap: Plumstead Christian Takes a Loss

If Plumstead Christian was feeling good fresh off their 6-0 takedown of Calvary Christian Academy on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Plumstead Christian fell 12-8 to the Bristol Warriors on Wednesday. Plumstead Christian was not able to make up for their loss to Bristol from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Chase Blattner was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Plumstead Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Santi Torres, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Plumstead Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Bristol, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.

Coming up, Plumstead Christian will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Lincoln Leadership Academy at 3:45 p.m. As for Bristol, they will face off against Calvary Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
