With a playoff win on the line, Newington rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They walked away with a 12-0 victory over the Middletown Blue Dragons. The win was familiar territory for the Nor'easters, who have now won five games in a row.

The critical scores for Newington came from Jonah Prignamo and Josiah Sims.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Newington's defense and their three sacks. Victor Rodriguez refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Heath Weeden was another major factor on D, forcing two fumbles, making 13 total tackles (1.0 for loss), and defending one pass.

Newington's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Middletown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

Newington wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 42-0 loss against Windsor on the 8th. Middletown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
