Softball Recap: Cherokee Indians vs. Waterloo Cougars        
        
		
            
 Cherokee extended their postseason success on Saturday against Waterloo. Everything went their way against the Waterloo Cougars as they made off with  a  16-6 victory. Considering Cherokee has won 24 contests by more than five  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
  Carli Sparks was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  tossed six innings while giving up just two earned  (and four unearned) runs off   nine  hits. Sparks has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive pitching appearances. Sparks was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs.
 In other batting news, Cherokee got a  massive  performance out of  Libby Collum, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Mallery Borden, who  went 3-for-5 with five  RBI.
 On Waterloo's side,  Caroline Lambert made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.  Georgiana Kavich was another key contributor,  going 1-for-3 with a  triple and two  RBI.
 Cherokee's win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 28-18. As for Waterloo, their defeat  ended  a  17-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 27-6-1.
 The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: they beat Cherokee by a score of  9-7 later that day.
