Center Moriches had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Southampton Mariners. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Mariners recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Dan Gilroy was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Gilroy was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Max Rayburn, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was David Spina, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Center Moriches does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southampton, they will challenge Pierson at 10:30 a.m. on April 4.
