Basketball Recap: Mabel-Canton Skates Past Bethlehem Academy with Ease

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mabel-Canton walked away with it. They breezed past the Bethlehem Academy Cardinals to the tune of 75-45 on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Mabel-Canton was led to victory by Tyler Larson and Isaac Underbakke. Larson went 6-for-14 en route to 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Underbakke went 6-for-12 to rack up 15 points in addition to six assists and five boards. The dominant performance also gave Larson a new career-high in blocks (four). Kale Tollefsrud was another key player, going 7-for-13 on his way to 15 points along with six assists and three blocks.

Mabel-Canton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive games.

Mabel-Canton's win bumped their record up to 10-17. As for Bethlehem Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-19.

Looking ahead, Mabel-Canton will venture away from home to face off against Rushford-Peterson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bethlehem Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
