Bishop Hendricken is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Portsmouth, who was ranked 19th at the time (Bishop Hendricken was ranked first). Meanwhile, Smithfield entered their tilt with Westerly on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 2-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Sentinels have posted since April 9, 2024.

Bishop Hendricken's win bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Smithfield, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.
