Basketball Recap: Lincoln County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lake Mead Christian Academy last Saturday, Lincoln County came back down to earth. The Lincoln County Lynx were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 57-56 to the White Pine Bobcats. The Lynx were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 63-45.

Lincoln County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kalen Bart, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. The contest was Bart's third in a row with at least ten points. Joey Padderatz was another key player, going 5 of 9 en route to 15 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Lincoln County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

Lincoln County's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-7. As for White Pine, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-9.

The future could be bright for both Lincoln County and White Pine: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Lincoln County will try to hand GV Christian their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, White Pine will look to extend Lake Mead Christian Academy's three-game losing streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
