Softball Recap: Bell Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lafayette, Bell was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dixie County Bears, sneaking past 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Bears back in February, they had to take a 12-2 loss.

Bella Sneed spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gracelynd Joiner-Solis, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Alexis Trahan also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Bell's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-7. As for Dixie County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Bell will take on Bronson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dixie County, they will square off against Branford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
