Fulton is a perfect 10-0 against Polo since October of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Steamers will host the Marcos at 7:00 p.m. Polo took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Fulton, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Fulton earned a 2-0 win over Eastland.
While Fulton won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22.
Fulton found their leader in sophomore Brianne Brennan, who had four digs and three aces.
Meanwhile, Polo didn't have quite enough to beat Pearl City on Monday and fell 2-1.
The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-18, 26-24.
Polo's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7-2. As for Fulton, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Fulton has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6 aces per game. However, it's not like Polo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Fulton skirted past Polo 2-1 in their previous matchup back in September. Will the Steamers repeat their success, or do the Marcos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
