Softball Recap: Jamesville-Dewitt's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Jamesville-DeWitt dropped their record down to 5-5 on Saturday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fairport Red Raiders. If the Red Rams were looking for revenge after losing 7-1 to the Red Raiders when the teams met back in May of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Fairport, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games.

For Fairport's part, Lucy Greco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Alaina Nunez was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Coming up, Jamesville-DeWitt will take on Webster Thomas at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Fairport, they will challenge Rush-Henrietta at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
