Baseball Recap: Leesville Comes Up Short

Leesville lost against Iowa last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Leesville Wampus Cats lost 12-6 to the Iowa Yellowjackets. The Wampus Cats' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Logan Seavey was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Kaleb Godwin also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Leesville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-1. As for Iowa, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leesville will challenge Simpson at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Iowa, they will square off against South Beauregard at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
