Basketball Game Preview: Chisholm Trail Rangers vs. Fossil Ridge Panthers

The Chisholm Trail Rangers will face off against the Fossil Ridge Panthers at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Chisholm Trail's tournament run continued when they took on Bowie on Friday. Chisholm Trail took a 63-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bowie. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 335th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 96th).

Meanwhile, Fossil Ridge entered their contest against Aledo on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Fossil Ridge fell just short of Aledo by a score of 42-39. The match marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Fossil Ridge's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-7. As for Chisholm Trail, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Chisholm Trail against Fossil Ridge in their previous matchup back in December of 2016, as the team secured a 52-22 victory. Will Chisholm Trail repeat their success, or does Fossil Ridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
