Softball Recap: West Union Eagles vs. Smithville Seminoles        
        
		
            
 West Union was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight  defeat. They suffered a  rough 9-3 loss at the hands of the Smithville Seminoles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to West Union of the  9-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  last Tuesday.
  Addison Collum spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and five unearned) runs on nine hits. Those seven  innings set a new season-high mark for her.
 At the plate,  Mollie Reaves made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-3 with two  doubles and  an  RBI.
 West Union's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Smithville, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Union will  square off against Bruce at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Smithville, they are on the road again  on Monday to play Vardaman at 7:30  p.m.
