Football Recap: Cedar Park Piles Up the Points Against Chaparral

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cedar Park). They blew past the Chaparral Bobcats 57-14 on Thursday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Timberwolves' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Bobcats are ranked 637th).

Trae Samuel Frost Hill produced another solid effort rushing for 220 yards and five scores while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 10 rushing touchdowns on the season. Cedar Park also got help from Jamal Porter, who showed off his sure hands for 81 receiving yards.

Cedar Park's run defense was locked in: Chaparral could only muster 2.8 yards per carry. While two picked up at least nine total tackles, Jahiem Porter stood above the rest. He made nine total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended one pass. Cedar Park didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.2.

Cedar Park didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Bennett Patton and CJ Rogers. Porter was another major factor on D, making nine total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

The win made it two in a row for Cedar Park and bumps their season record up to 2-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.5 points over those games. As for Chaparral, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Cedar Park wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 48-35 win against Rouse on the 3rd. As for Chaparral, they have also already played their next matchup, a 56-7 loss against Georgetown on the 2nd.
