Softball Game Preview: Monroe Bearcats vs. Juanita Ravens

The Monroe Bearcats will venture away from home to take on the Juanita Ravens at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Monday, Monroe didn't have quite enough to beat Kamiak and fell 13-12. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hadley Oylear stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Scarlett Nagy, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Juanita and Eastlake, and Eastlake kept the tradition alive. Juanita took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eastlake on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Ravens' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Monroe now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Juanita, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Monroe has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Juanita struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
