Softball Recap: New Bern Bears vs. Havelock Rams

While New Bern's victory against Havelock wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The New Bern Bears had just enough and edged out the Havelock Rams 7-6 on Tuesday. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Anna Champey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
