Basketball Recap: Teutopolis Finds Home Court Redemption Against Effingham

There's no place like home for Teutopolis, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They strolled past the Effingham Hearts with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 54-36. This was payback for the Wooden Shoes, who suffered a 53-34 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Teutopolis' victory bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Effingham, they moved to 20-6 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Teutopolis will take on Breese Central at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Teutopolis has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Effingham, they will square off against Mahomet-Seymour at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mahomet-Seymour knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Effingham likes a good challenge.
